Day 43

Silence Sans Mom

“Thank Goodness it’s Mother’s Day” is not something I would ever expect to hear myself say, yet here I am.  I never cared for such silly notions as Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and Valentine’s Day.  Before you attack me for the above statements, understand that I don’t agree that there should be a specific day to celebrate the people that you care for.  That should be something that everyone should be doing every day.

Usually, like I said above, Mother’s Day is not something I look forward to, but this time around it was a welcome distraction.  The calls, the texts, and the well-wishes kept me in check and kept me from breaking down and sinking in a funk.  Yes, I was quiet otherwise, but things could have gone so much worse.
