Choosing Faces

You know that feeling when you are reading a book and you let your imagination run wild and you start seeing the book playing in your head like a movie? Like I mentioned in a previous post, that is the reason the reason I love books. That is the personal vision you have given to all the characters and settings of the book. It is a very important part of the process and it helps you tie in with the content.

Just as important to the author is the images used in the book. Everything from book cover to inserts is chosen specifically for the reader to follow and attach in their imagination to the picture in their mind will match the author’s, to some extent. That is why big changes sometimes are met with resistance, like the first blond-haired James Bond, or a female Thor. That is my work today. Picking out a face for to match the voice for the project. Not an easy task because the image is already in my head. Wish me luck.
